The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

In January 2025 it rose 6.13 percent to 354,889 tons.The number of passengers using the train transportation mode in January 2025 was 91,023 people or a decrease of 4.95 percent.

Wednesday, June 5 2024, the Empat Lawang Regency Sectoral Statistics Development Team carried out socialization on the implementation of Sectoral Statistics Development (PSS) activities. This socialization aims to build friendship between BPS and regional governments so that good and harmonious cooperation can be established, especially in sectoral statistical activities. The Regional Apparatus Organizations that will take part in Sectoral Statistics Development in June 2024 are the Social Service, Population Control and Family Planning Service, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency, Manpower Service, Population and Civil Registration Service, Ministry of Religion Office, District Prosecutor's Office, Empat Lawang Police, National Narcotics Agency, Pramong Praja Police Unit, and Transportation Service
