Data collection for KSA Rice and Corn January 2025

January 31, 2025 | BPS Activities

Friday, January 31 2025, the BPS Production Team for Empat Lawang Regency carried out Data Collection for the Rice and Corn Area Sample Frame (KSA) Survey. This activity is a routine BPS survey which is carried out in the last week of the month concerned. The Area Sample Frame Survey (KSA) is an area-based survey carried out by direct observation of segment samples and aims to estimate the area by extrapolating the sample to the population in a relatively short period (rapid estimate). The aim of the KSA Survey is to calculate the estimated harvest area for rice and secondary crops (corn). The estimated harvest area with commodity productivity will be the production figure for rice and corn commodities. Data collection via KSA is carried out using segment areas as calculation samples. Segment observations are carried out by field officers on the last seven days of each month. This is a small contribution from fellow field officers. This KSA approach technique is expected to be useful for food crop statistics, especially in supporting national food security program planning.
