The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

In January 2025 it rose 6.13 percent to 354,889 tons.The number of passengers using the train transportation mode in January 2025 was 91,023 people or a decrease of 4.95 percent.

Abstract

Human development in Empat Lawang in 2016 continues to progress as marked by the continued increase Human Development Index (HDI) of Empat Lawang.  By 2016, IPM Empat Lawang has reached 64.00. This figure increased by 0.45 points compared with IPM Empat Lawang in 2015 which amounted to 63.55. However, when compared to all regencies / cities in South Sumatra, Empat Lawang District was ranked 14th out of 17 districts / cities. In 2016, human development in Empat Lawang is still "moderate".  Although Empat Lawang Regency’s HDI in 2016 grew by 0.71 percent compared to 2015.

 During the period 2015 to 2016, HDI-forming components also increased. Newborns have a chance to live up to 64 years. Children  7 years of age have the opportunity to go to school for 12 years. Meanwhile, the population aged 25 years and above the average has been studying for 7 years.  Expenditure per capita (constant 2012 prices) community has reached USD 8.94 million in 2016, an increase of 217 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
