The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

In January 2025 it rose 6.13 percent to 354,889 tons.The number of passengers using the train transportation mode in January 2025 was 91,023 people or a decrease of 4.95 percent.

Abstract

  • The economy of South Sumatra Province is based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices based on quarter I-2019 reaching Rp 108.08 trillion and on the basis of constant prices in 2010 reaching Rp 75.66 trillion.
  • Economy of South Sumatra Province in quarter I-2019 grew 5.68 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Business Field of Providing Accommodation and Drinking Food which grew by 16.81 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Non-Profit Institution Consumption Component serving Households (PK-LNPRT) which grew by 13.93 percent.
  • Economy of South Sumatra Province quarter I-2019 compared to the previous quarter grew by 0.63 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Field which grew by 10.89 percent. While in terms of expenditure, the PK-LNPRT component grew by 2.36 percent.
  • The economic structure of South Sumatra Province quarter I-2019 from the production side is dominated by Mining and Excavation Businesses of 20.33 percent; followed by Processing Industry Business Fields at 19.61 percent and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields at 14.61 percent. While in terms of expenditure, it was dominated by Components of Household Consumption Expenditures (PK-RT) of 67.05 percent; followed by successive Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) of 34.17 percent; and Foreign Exports of 13.12 percent.
