The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

In January 2025 it rose 6.13 percent to 354,889 tons.The number of passengers using the train transportation mode in January 2025 was 91,023 people or a decrease of 4.95 percent.

Abstract

The ITK value of South Sumatra Province in quarter I-2019 amounted to 99.98, meaning that the economic conditions of South Sumatra consumers were not improved compared to quarter IV-2018. The Quarterly-2019 Consumer optimism level was lower than in quarter IV-2018 which amounted to 105.66.
Consumer economic conditions in the first quarter of 2019 were influenced by an increase in household consumption volume (index value of 106.35) and relatively influential inflation in household consumption (index value of 105.46), but household income tended to decline compared to the previous quarter (index value 94.39).
The upcoming Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) of 118.52 means that the condition of the consumer economy in quarter II-2019 is expected to improve with optimism which is much higher than the first quarter-2019. In quarter II-2019, consumers were optimistic their income would increase (index value 134.56), but consumers held back the purchase of durable goods slightly (index 90.41).
The economic conditions of seven consumers from ten provinces in Sumatra, namely Riau Islands Province, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Aceh Province, West Sumatra Province, Jambi Province, Bengkulu Province and North Sumatra Province increased in the first quarter of 2019. While the economic condition of consumers in Lampung Province, Riau Province and South Sumatra Province in the first quarter of 2019 decreased compared to the previous quarter. Among all provinces in Sumatra Island, the current ITK value of South Sumatra Province is number eight highest.
Nationally, ITK in quarter I-2019 was worth more than 100 (ITK = 104.35) which means that the condition of the national consumer economy in quarter I-2019 was relatively better than quarter IV-2018. Consumer optimism level in quarter I-2019 was lower than quarter IV-2018 (ITK Value 110.54). In quarter I-2019, the ITK of South Sumatra Province is below the national ITK. The highest ITK is in DI Province. Yogyakarta is 115.55. The ITK of South Sumatra Province ranks 25th (twenty-fifth) nationally.
