The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

In January 2025 it rose 6.13 percent to 354,889 tons.The number of passengers using the train transportation mode in January 2025 was 91,023 people or a decrease of 4.95 percent.

Abstract

The economy of South Sumatra Province based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in the second quarter of 2019 reached Rp 113.26 trillion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 78.67 trillion.

The economy of South Sumatra Province in the second quarter of 2019 grew 5.80 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Business of Providing Accommodation and Food and Drink which grew by 16.41 percent. In terms of expenses, the highest growth was achieved by the Non-Profit Institution Consumption Expenditure Component serving Households (PK-LNPRT) which grew by 12.87 percent.

The economy of South Sumatra Province in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the previous quarter grew by 3.97 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields which grew by 5.50 percent. While in terms of expenditure achieved by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) which grew by 47.38 percent.

The economy of South Sumatra in semester I-2019 compared to semester I-2018 (c-to-c) grew 5.75 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Provision of Accommodation and Food and Drink at 16.60 percent; followed by Health Services and Social Activities at 10.52 percent; and Company Services 9.41 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Non-Profit Institutional Consumption Expenditure component serving Households (PK-LNPRT) by 13.39 percent, followed by the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT) by 4.21 percent

The economic structure of South Sumatra Province in the second quarter of 2019 was dominated by Mining and Quarrying Business Fields by 20.54 percent; followed by the Manufacturing Industry Business Field by 19.57 percent and the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Field by 14.52 percent. While in terms of expenditure is dominated by the Household Consumption Expenditure component (PK-RT) which covers more than half of the South Sumatra Province's GRDP of 65.65 percent. Other components that have a large role to the GDP in a row are Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB); Overseas Exports; and Government Consumption Expenditures (PK-P);
