Abstract
The export value of South Sumatra in October 2019 increased by 27.71 percent compared to exports in September 2019. However, when compared with the same period in 2018 (January - October 2018) the export of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 10.77 percent.
The export value of South Sumatra Province in October 2019 of US $ 355.13 million consisted of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 23.64 million and US $ 331.49 million which was the result of non-oil and gas commodity exports.
China, Malaysia and the United States of America became the main export destination countries of South Sumatra in the period January - October 2019, amounting to US $ 1,133.84 million, US $ 359.45 million and US $ 301.17 million respectively, with the roles of the three reaching 52.77 percent of total exports in the January-October 2019 period.
The import value of South Sumatra in October 2019 was US $ 41.84 million, an increase of 21.19 percent compared to September 2019.
The import of South Sumatra Province in October 2019 was US $ 41.84 million consisting of oil and gas imports of US $ 2.98 million and non-oil and gas US $ 38.86 million.
The biggest countries of origin for the period January - October 2019 are China with an import value of US $ 151.43 million, followed by Malaysia with an import value of US $ 54.53 million and Canada with an import value reaching US $ 25.05 million.
