Abstract

  • The Human Development Index (IPM) for Sumatera Selatan Province in 2022 has increased compared to the previous year. The HDI for Sumatera Selatan in 2022 is 70.90 or grows 0.83 percent (an increase of 0.66 points) compared to the achievements in 2021.
  • The increase in HDI 2022 is supported by improvements in all its constituent components. All dimensions that make up HDI have increased, especially longevity and healthy and decent living.
  • In the dimensions of longevity and healthy life, babies born in 2022 have an expectation of being able to live up to 70.32 years, 0.34 years longer than those born in the previous year.
  • In the knowledge dimension, the expected length of schooling for the 7 year old population increased by 0.01 years compared to the previous year, from 12.54 to 12.55 years. In addition, the average length of schooling for residents aged 25 years and over has also increased by 0.07 years, from 8.30 years to 8.37 years in 2022.
  • The dimension of a decent standard of living as measured by the average real expenditure per capita (adjusted) increased by 447 thousand rupiah (4.19 percent) compared to the previous year.
