The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

In January 2025 it rose 6.13 percent to 354,889 tons.The number of passengers using the train transportation mode in January 2025 was 91,023 people or a decrease of 4.95 percent.

January 2023 Inflation Year on Year (yoy) Combined 2 CPI Cities in South Sumatra of 5.34 Percent
In January 2023 there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 5.34 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.30. Yoy inflation in Palembang City was 5.34 percent with a CPI of 113.29 and in Lubuk Linggau City it was 5.31 percent with a CPI of 113.40.
Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the transportation group by 14.94 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.63 percent; personal care and other services group of 6.33 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 5.22 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 4.78 percent; the education group by 3.77 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 3.37 percent; food and beverage supply group.
