The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

Abstract

  • Sumatera Selatan's export value in July 2023 reached US$544.87 million, down 0.65 percent compared to exports in June 2023. Compared to July 2022, the export value fell by 36.65 percent.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in July 2023 reached US$506.53 million, up 0.51 percent compared to June 2023. Compared to July 2022, non-oil and gas exports fell by 37.75 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of Sumatera Selatan from January to July 2023 reached US$4,011.24 million, down 4.83 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
  • The largest export share in July 2023 was China with US$179.55 million, India with US$65.59 million and Malaysia with US$54.77 million.
  • Cumulatively, Sumatera Selatan's largest export value from January to July 2023 was directed to China in the amount of US$1,710.83 million, India in the amount of US$402.29 million, and Malaysia in the amount of US$297.93 million, with the contribution of the three of them reaching 60.11 percent. Meanwhile exports to ASEAN and the European Union were 22.24 percent and 3.10 percent respectively.
  • Sumatera Selatan's import value in July 2023 reached US$68.60 million, up 49.19 percent compared to June 2023, and down 8.11 percent compared to July 2022.
  • July 2023 oil and gas imports were worth US$1.88 million, up 94.85 percent compared to June 2023, and down 73.06 percent compared to July 2022.
  • Non-oil and gas imports in July 2023 were valued at US$66.72 million, up 48.21 percent compared to June 2023, and down 1.41 percent compared to July 2022.
  • The three largest suppliers of imported goods from January to July 2023 are China US$182.61 million (43.05 percent), Malaysia US$31.57 million (7.44 percent), and Vietnam US$29.23 million (6.89 percent). . The import value from ASEAN in January-July 2023 was US$119.96 million (28.28 percent) and the European Union was US$45.14 million (10.64 percent).
  • Sumatera Selatan's trade balance in July 2023 experienced a surplus of US$476.27 million, originating from the non-oil and gas sector of US$439.82 million, and the oil and gas sector of US$36.46 million.
