The rice harvest area in 2024 will reach 521.09 thousand hectares, an increase of 16.95 thousand hectares or 3.36 percent compared to the rice harvest area in 2023 which was 504.14 thousand hectares.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

Abstract

  • The number of Individual Agricultural Holding (UTP) was 1,185.,89 units, a decrease of 1.66 percent from 2013 which was 1,205,264 units.
  • The number of Agricultural Households (RTUP) was 1,161,246 households, an increase of 21.12 percent from 2013 which was 958,724 households.
  • The ratio of Individual Agricultural Holding (UTP) to Agricultural Households (RTUP) in 2023 was 1.02, which is 0.24 points lower than in 2013, which was 1.26.
  • The number of Agricultural Corporation (UPB) was 230 units, an increase of 32.18 percent from 2013, which was 174 units.
  • The number of Other Agricultural Holding (UTL) was 131 units, an increase of 167.35 percent from 2013, which was 49 units.
  • The millennial farmers aged 19–39 were 766,207 farmers or around 60.86 percent of all farmers in Indonesia.
  • The number of urban farming UTPs was 226 units.
  • The top 10 commodities most widely cultivated farmed by UTP were rubber,  inbred paddy rice, coffee, oil palm, common native chicken, beef cattle, goats, coconuts, durian and hybrid paddy rice.
