The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

In January 2025 it rose 6.13 percent to 354,889 tons.The number of passengers using the train transportation mode in January 2025 was 91,023 people or a decrease of 4.95 percent.

Abstract

The National Labour Force Survey (Sakernas) reports number of Sumatera Selatan's labor force in February 2024 was 4.56 million people, an increase of 62.6 thousand people compared to February 2023. The labor force participation rate increased by 0.02 percentage points.
The number of employed people has increased by 85.2 thousand people, to 4.38 million people, compared to February 2023. Agriculture, forestry and fishery experienced the highest increase in employment which is 76 thousand people.
The formal sector employed 1.60 million people (36.59 percent), the decrease of 0.02 percentage points compared to August 2022.
Underemployment rate increased by 2.43 percentage points but voluntary part-time employment rates decreased by 3.16 percentage points in February 2024 compared to February 2023.
The February 2024 unemployment rate was 3.97 percent, a decrease by 0.56 percentage points from the February 2023 rate.
