The rice harvest area in 2024 will reach 521.09 thousand hectares, an increase of 16.95 thousand hectares or 3.36 percent compared to the rice harvest area in 2023 which was 504.14 thousand hectares.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

Abstract

The Sumatera Selatan Province expenditure inequality rate, as measured by Gini Ratio, in March 24 was 0.333. The figure decreased by 0.005 points with Gini Ratio in March 2023 at 0.338.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.352, which decreased at 0.008 compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 (0.360). The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.305, the same as Gini Ration in March 2023.
According to World Bank’s inequality measurement, expenditure distribution for the lowest 40 percent population was 19.91 percent. That means the population’s expenditure in March 2024 was in the range of the low inequality category. Expenditure in both areas indicated the low inequality category which at 18.69 percent in urban and 21.26 in rural area.
