The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in February 2025 was 0.41 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.77 percent.

In January 2025 it rose 6.13 percent to 354,889 tons.The number of passengers using the train transportation mode in January 2025 was 91,023 people or a decrease of 4.95 percent.

On May 21st, 2025, BPS-Statistics of Empat Lawang Regency participated in the Meeting on Recommendations and Follow-Up of the 2024 SAKIP Evaluation Results (LHE SAKIP). This event was organized by BPS of South Sumatra Province and attended by all SAKIP coordinators from BPS offices across the province. The meeting aimed to strengthen performance accountability through the implementation of recommendations from the 2024 AKIP Evaluation.

The focus included improving the quality of planning (2025–2029 Strategic Plan and 2025 Performance Agreement), data-based performance measurement, and quarterly reporting with in-depth analysis and follow-up action plans. These recommendations have been integrated into the Sinergi application, with a monitoring deadline set for May 30th, 2025.

Key innovations included a transparent, performance-based reward and punishment system, and the use of the digital platform "Kipapp" to monitor employee productivity. With this approach, BPS of South Sumatra Province aims for a significant improvement in performance and accountability in the upcoming 2025 AKIP evaluation.
